FOOD (Friends Offering Others Dinner)
FOOD coordinates meals for people at Highlands Church who are having surgery, facing an illness, welcoming a child, or living through other major life events.
Getting started
If you’d like to sign up to provide a meal, please email us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it to be added to the volunteer list. Whenever there is a need, you will receive an "invitation" from mealbaby.com to view a recipient's "meal registry." There, you’ll find a calendar of meals needed. You can view specific information about dates, contact information, food issues, etc. and even see what others are bringing to help avoid duplication. Once you sign up for a meal, you’ll get an e-mail reminder the day before you’re supposed to provide the meal.
Meal ideas: Meals can be homemade or store-bought. Some suggestions (not required—any help is appreciated!)
- Freezable food is best
- Aim for a complete, balanced meal
- Make meals that are large enough to eat more than once
- Use containers that you don’t mind not getting back
Receiving meals
If you have a request, please contact us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . We welcome meals requests since they give us an opportunity to support and care for our church community!
Once you submit a request, you’ll be asked for food allergies and dislikes, the best time to drop off meals, and any other relevant information. If you’d like, you can also include your friends and family in the meal registry, so that everyone is working off of one list.
